Weather Policy/ Pool Closures

For safety reasons, there may be times that the pool will be closed due to bad weather or other conditions. The pool will reopen when the weather is safe.

Closing for rain

Consisting for heavy rain, where the bottom of the pool is not visible

Closure for thunder and lightning

When thunder is heard or lightning is seen/strikes 10 or less miles away, lessons will be on hold 30 minutes. If inclement weather continues, lessons might be canceled the whole day. Rain checks will be held accordingly.

RWI (Recreation Water Illness)

For health reasons, the pool will need to be closed and treated if fecal contamination occurs.

Makeups

Living in Texas, we are all aware that weather is unpredictable and cancellations happen ever so often. If we experience a problem, we will close the pool and adjust the swim schedule. We will try our best to inform you 15-30 minutes prior to any cancellation, so please make sure we have your contact information.
Canceled lessons will be hosted at another location indoors or held on another day. Furthermore, absences or tardiness are not subject to makeup classes. For the benefit of the child and class, please make sure that your child is on time for the class.

Viewing Lessons

Swimming lessons will promote confident, fun, and safe swimmers. Sometimes children will have difficulty breaking away from their parents. Attaining the trust of the instructor will be vital to the success of each student. Parents will come to the facility, no earlier than 10 minutes, then the instructor will meet you at the designated swimming location.

Restroom Policy

Please encourage your child to use the bathroom prior to the swim lessons. Children under 3 years old, have to use 2 reusable swim diapers.

Conduct

We reserve the right to remove children from classes if they are disruptive, verbally or physically abusive to other students or instructors.

Team Work

For every student to succeed, it will take the instructor and parent working together. Parents play a significant role in their child’s swim lesson. Listed below are several pointers to help your child with swim lessons:
Prepare your child for swim lessons, i.e. explain what will be happening. Talk to the child about the environment and be super cheerful for them.

Be prompt - Please be on time as to not rush your child. Children can get anxious if they feel rushed.

Attend every lesson - Failure to do so may cause regression or create a feeling of being behind other children.

Avoid comparisons - No two children develop at the same rate, as we all know. Since each child learns at a different pace because of factors such as physical growth, individual development, comfort, practice, and previous experience, please respect your child’s qualities and do not compare them to other students/siblings.

Always be encouraging and supportive - This will help to engage your child and their effort, and you may notice them trying harder during their lessons.

Homework - Children will be given fun homework (skills) that they can practice for the week/night. By joining in and helping them practice the skills, it can make it more enjoyable for them.

We cannot wait for you and your little one to be joining us in swimming lessons! We are excited for the upcoming season :)
